Taste of the Kingsway in Etobicoke

This past Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013) I took Frenzi for a walk up Bloor Street West, a few blocks with the cursory knowledge that an event called Taste of the Kingsway was happening, an annual gathering held by the Kingsway BIA. It was an enjoyable walk-through, I had no idea what to expect.

Taste of the Kingsway was a wonderful street party with food, music and a few thousand people. There were a number of small stages with a variety of performances. The smell of all the street-food was outstanding, with fresh corn and smoked ribs… scent of summer!

With Frenzi in tow I didn’t have the chance to stop and chat too much, he pulls me in 1,000 different directions in crowds and with enough children eating ice cream at his eye-level, I needed to be on my guard. I was able to snap a few photos that I thought I’d share.

In my silly mind this was a welcome to the neighbourhood party, just for me.

I look forward to more random long walks down Bloor Street West. I’ve only been living in this area for a month so I guess I’m not too late in getting to know the neighbourhood.
